fuck. Another bone headed turnover that leads to a shortie. Toldja his name translates to "good for one power play turnover that results in a shortie per series."

The Dallas Stars?? Or are these the Bats?? No shots on the powerplay for the third (correction) time tonight. Looks like Pens-Wings will be a good series...after tonight, no post season pro sports in Dallas until at least January. Ya know for
damned sure the Rangers ain't getting anywhere near October.

my bad. Zubie didn't cough that up. Just saw the replay. Live it looked like it was a bad pass by Zubie, but it was the guy Zubie dropped the pass off to that coughed it up.

Yeah, regardless, he's clearly not the only problem.

This is why teams never come back from 3-0 (or 3-1, or even 2-0 if you really crunch the numbers). It's normal for the leading team to coast a little bit. Then, even if you take advantage, winning four games in a row requires near perfection and a ton of sustained effort. What's more, if the Stars had somehow won this series I think they would have just been meat for Pittsburgh, not because Pittsburgh's better but because they would have nothing left. This game was over at 2-0 Detroit. I almost wonder why they aren't pulling Turco during power plays.

#26 holds a soft spot for me. My wife was in labor with our son while I was at the hospital watching the Fog Bowl. I'll always know the date of that game.

Truly I think the Stars shoulda been meat after the Ducks series. I think them going up 3-0 on the Sharks was an aberration, especially after the knock-down drag out they had with the Ducks. As I said when the Wings were cleaning the Ice with the the Avs, the Wings are scary good and wicked fast.

I didn't expect the Stars to come back from that deficit, just to put up a better showing.

That being said, I decree that Chris Osgood should change his name to Chris OsGREAT.

We should have a helluva series to watch. Two high powered teams going head to head.

Oh, and Versus has some contest going that you can win tickets to the Cup.

In that case, what do you remember about the first Gulf War?

I'm about as excited as I could be for this series considering both my favorite teams just got left out of it. Not sure who I really want to root for. I guess the Pens since A) they beat the Flyers and B) Cup winners don't usually do well the next season.

I'm sad for my Rangers, but I'm looking forward to this series more than any other in a recent years. This is gonna be friggin' awesome. These are such incredibly good hockey teams. It's really fun.

The last game in each of these two series was a clinic, though Dallas at least made a go of it in the third.

ZR - I don't know. I was too busy watching football.

Hee. I just remember the Eagles game being interrupted for news bulletins.

The goat on the shorty tonight was Morrow. I think I'll cut him some slack. Even if he didn't have two injuries.

Is it me or did Mike Modano disappear as the playoffs rolled along? Hard to believe he ended up with the 2nd most playoff goals and 4th most points for his team in the playoffs. He must have gotten most of that early.

Mike who?

Sad to say, but age really caught up with Modano this post season. I wonder how much longer we'll see him playing hockey? He does have a new baby to feed, so he may have to hang on for another year or so /sarcasm.

Did Stu Barnes ever come back to play in the Wings series after that head injury in game 4 (??) of the Sharks series?
