| Sorry to see him go. A lot of fond memories of his time with "our" AHL Stars.

Maybe because they picked up Avery?
Stars Junior Prospects Update
...In a game against the London Knights, Clune scored an empty net goal and celebrated by doing push-ups on the ice. While the celebration didn’t result in any team infractions, these types of actions generally don’t go unchecked in the AHL or NHL.

Ha-ha, nice.
In all seriousness, it's probably about time the Stars let their fans (their NHL fans, not just people in Austin) know where the prospects will be stashed this year, and also what they've decided to do with Iowa's coaches (probably just buy them out, but they could also place one of them as an assistant with whatever team they're going to send most of their players too. Or announce that they will coach in Cedar Park and keep them on 'til then).

This just partially answers the questions...
Stars have high hopes for kids
Looks like 'our Stars' are going to be split up four ways in the coming season. No mention of the coaches or which four teams will be involved.

Damn - How sure are these guys of the CP deal? (emphasis mine in the quotes from the article below) I also notice that they seem to ignore Cedar Park per se and just call it Austin. I bet that pisses the CP officials off. ;-)
"They HOPE to have a team in Austin, Texas, for the 2009-10 season."
"It's not something we want to do for very long, but we think we can make it work for a year, and we HOPE we'll have a team in Austin after that." _________________ “I’m so frustrated with the business. | I'm not sure the scouting guy (let alone the NHL.com writer) knows much about it one way or another. It's just being realistic for them to recognize delays or overruns could hurt the chance of opening in time. But the mere fact that they are doing this patchwork set-up suggests confidence - otherwise they'd probably want something more stable (and with a second-year option). I'd also have to guess that there's a good chance one or two of those four teams will be in Texas. If you can keep five or six players close by and put five or six players elsewhere that's probably better than having all of them in Rochester or Maine or Winnipeg.

Ya know I'm seriously surprised that Hicks didn't buy the Brahmas and move em to Frisco (share the barn with the Tornados). That way he could move guys from the A to the C with minimal travel expenses, etc when needed. Hell, they coulda sent guys down from the N for rehab stints to Frisco if Hicks had bought the Brahmas.
