The Hounds take back-to-back games from the Blazers and are still ranked lower in the coaches poll...does the CHL need a BCS-style ranking that includes a 'difficulty of schedule' modifier?? _________________ "If you keep the opposition on their @#$!%, they can't score goals" - Dave "the Hammer" Schultz

The BCS is flawed. Human polls are flawed. You know your team is better than what they are ranked. I think that something more like the NCAA Basketball RPI (rating percentage index) would be better suited for figuring a ranking.
But that being said, it is a coaches poll and some schmucks will not cast a vote for a team they don't like. Its like those numbskulls in NCAA football that finished the season 5-7 and the head coach gives his team a first place vote....or doesn't give a rival the vote they deserve b/c they got their teeth kicked in by said rival. _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. | P44, F the poll (I mean that figurativly of course). You guys are one of the hottest teams right now, all that matters is the points. And your boys have made up a ton of ground in the last few weeks. The poll only provides a little bit of substance for us fans to talk about.

A poll in professional sports means absolutely nothing. Well, in bullriding it does. The CHL has a playoff system(flawed as it is) and nobody's opinion is gonna affect the seatings. There are teams in the league who don't play each of the other teams. How in the world would any of those coaches know? _________________ Mike@jayhawkroofing.com

Well, I surely didn't anticipate this much dicussion on the matter...I was just throwing it out there because it seemed a little goofy to me.
All points well taken though....seeing as how the Hounds have contributed to losses for a handful of teams lately (in addition to some physical beatings), I can easily see why other coaches may not be so nice to them in the rankings....either that or they felt that they shouldn't have lost their game(s) and think the Hounds are still a lesser team.
Either way (you're all right) who cares...the Hounds have been within the top 9 in the polls all season...that's enough recognition for me!! _________________ "If you keep the opposition on their @#$!%, they can't score goals" - Dave "the Hammer" Schultz
