George Carlin dead at 71. One of the funniest comedians I've ever seen live. We spent one New Year's Eve with George at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

I'm green with envy.
He was the funniest guy I ever heard. He almost killed me from the grave this very morning. Mike Barnicle, who was once suspended from his job as a newspaper columnist for the Boston Globe for plagiarizing one of Carlin's jokes, said Carlin once sent him an autographed copy of one of Carlin's books, inscribed " To my friend Mike, I thought we'd just cut out the middle man. Best, George." _________________ NHrow7 (1996-2006)
Russert, now Carlin....we're running out of folks we can count on to explain stuff to us.
And among those who could make us laugh until we cry, we recently lost Harvey Korman too. They'll all be missed. _________________ If we don't protect freedom of speech, how will we know who the assholes are?
