Brad Richards had five assists in his Dallas Stars debut, and his linemate Niklas Hagman scored a hat trick. After the game, Richards and Hagman took the team's charter aircraft to Massachusetts to get married. They will rejoin the team before the Stars' Saturday home game against the Nashville Predators.

It is believed to be the first marriage between two NHL players, although it has been known for years that the entire Philadelphia Flyers roster is gay.
