okay, new mexico played a great game tonight, as well as our hometown gorillas. but tonight was another horribly reffed night, croft let many penalties by. i saw numerous hooks and interferences that he did not call on new mexico but still called on amarillo. dont get me wrong, we also got away with plenty. tonight amarillo played really great, our boys tried as hard as they could but couldnt get around this ref.

ive always wondered why amarillo gets the shittiest referees come playoff time. i wish that the league would get referees from other leagues such as the UHL and ECHL, and alternate ours with theres. im tired of having bad ref jobs that cause us games.

anyways, congrats on the win scorps. robertson played one hell of a game, so did cacciola. hope to take two in new mexico, id hate to see the season end this way.

SHIT! After both teams getting 8 pts out of our 7 regular season games, a dead even matchup just got lopsided. DAMN!

Come on yet again you blame the Refs, but didn't want the Eagles to blame a short bench. Games are played, Games are lost, and yes the refs can make them challenging, but don't ever blame someone or something for the fact your team didn't win. For example, Eagles got out played tonight and Youngstown took it to them. Congrats to the hounds as they were the better team. Nevermind the ref sucked both ways. One team overcame and the other didn't.

at least they're rotating the refs....if you had Tudor for the entire series, or Kaval or Crookedshaftinhisbutt, etc etc I could understand the "gorillas get the crappiest refs" rant.

but the truth is everyone gets em. everyone has to overcome the imagined calls, non-calls, etc. Sometimes it may be in your favor, other times not. Sometimes the ref won't call shit and lets the game get out of hand (TUDOR), and other times the ref calls each and every infraction, as well as some he's imagined (TUDOR).

and if that doesn't help, repeat the following mantra to yourself:

"well, at least my team made the playoffs. at least I get to see postseason hockey."

that being said, go Gorillas.

gotta support the TX teams. (except Rio).

The refs were bad last night, but you have to admit we did have plenty of opportunities to put the game away when we were leading 3-1. New Mexico proved that last night at least, they wanted the win more than we did.

We have also proven we can win there in the playoffs. Can we win two in a row there? I think its possible. I'm not giving up hope yet.

yeah i know our boys could've won that game and that it wasnt all referees. but at the same time, they didnt help. we missed many breakaways that couldve iced the game, and its our fault for letting it slip away. but still, i saw many calls missed last night. we got really bad refs, but i think it was our faults for losing last night. we shouldve won that game and i know that i cant blame that on the refs.

hahner made a bad mistake turning that puck over to robertson. also lipsett and miller missing on breakaways were very killing elements in the game. i know that our boys can come back, they have proved they can win on the road as enforcer said.

if we can get past the first game and win it- its all based on who wants it more.

Kido, your thread title turned out to be prophetic. Anybody know where we can pickup an average goalie who would rate better than 16th or 20th out of 22 in goals against ave?

I will agree with LBk on one point. I think Croft has gotten worse as the season went on. The game he called here last night was terriable.
BTW....do you have anything other than mother jokes? I didn't think so. Have a great summer on the links with the rest of the punk a$$ organization and maybe, just maybe, your team will be back in Amarillo next year.

You really can not blame the refs for losing the series. Apparently you did not watch any games in Rio Rancho. In the games that I saw both teams got screwed here and there. It evens out. From what I remember the Apes had several 5 on 3's in the series that they could not capitalize on. The series could have gone either way. It was a pretty equal match up but I think NMX had the advantage in goal. None the less I could understand the ref argument if the series went 7 games or there were more overtime games.

And before you say it, no I did not watch any games in Amarillo but still the series saw Lemelin also.
