| What the heck is happening with your team? I didn't get to hear any of your game with the Thunder or even the Eagles game for that matter, but I just would like someone who did to fill me in on what happened in a 4 - 1 lose.

Sounds like Wichita is on fire and might force Bossier to use its mulligan. If that happens, they'll get the Eagles in the second round and the Eagles will have home ice advantage. _________________ they're (Laredo Bucks) handing out beatdowns like Halloween candy. -Greg Rajan, 10/27/07

| Yeap that is what I am scared of. This 2 3 2 format really favors the away team I think. I hope Bossier pulls their heads out of their a$$ and starts playing hockey sometime soon.

I'd certainly say the 2-3-2 format is not as good as the 2-2-1-1-1 when you are the team with home ice, but I'm sure the Bugs would still rather have the home ice (and face Memphis or OKC for that matter). Besides, isn't Colorado likely to have a 2-3-2 series against Memphis anyway (though maybe not OKC)?
But yeah, the re-seed is another thing I don't really like about the format. When you're a top seed in the NHL one of the privileges is knowing you might catch a lesser team in the second round, albeit one that got hot and worked an upset. It's not an easy choice -- a hot underdog team or a wounded conference champion.

| I think it be hard to beat a conference champion twice. Personally I think this format sucks. Durn near everyone (that didn't suck) made the playoffs. Should cut it back to 4 teams or expanded to 8. This way even the Bats and the Rage could have said they made the playoffs.

You are correct that with the exception of OKC and probably the Thunder all of the Eagles series will probably be 2 - 3 - 2 format. We saw how well this format worked for the Eagles last year when Bossier took a game from the Eagles at home and then swept them right out of the playoffs, it just means that the home team has to be sure to take care of bussiness on their home ice.
I also agree the object of being a higher seeded team in the playoffs is to take your shot at a "lesser team" in the seeding, but as the Thunder are showing there is no such thing as a "lesser team" in the playoffs. Instead now it could happen that the 1 and 2 seeds in the North would play in the second round. With and the currant 3/4 seed playing the 6th seed in the second round, which I find kind of funny. Maybe next year instead of being greedy they will allow the top two teams to have a bye, but I doubt that.

Mulligan? Maybe not. We gladly passed that one onto Memphis.
Thunder played a GREAT series, and proved why they belonged in that spot in the play-offs. I have nothing but utmost respect for them.
We started off the series poorly, some even said maybe the intensity was gone because we had the mulligan cushion underneath us. Who know. Just glad they finally woke up and played the type of hockey we knew they could play. _________________ *Is it October yet?*
