Say the Pens keep going headhunting on Franzen and you're a Red Wing. Which Penquin player do you send a message to?? I say you send it to Crosby, but I think that would result in fines and a suspension. So then who? Malkin?

lotta views, but no replies. What's with all the lurking? Post!
3-2 Penss. Looks like this is the one game the Pens will get to make my Wings in 5 prediction come true. Can't believe Crosby was trying to get chippy with Draper at the end of the 2nd........Kid woulda got his ass pounded like some newbie in a supermax prison (a la Oz...). Gill at least needs to get some chicklets knocked out. _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Good game. Wings almost banged it in there the last few minutes. _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Gill knocking Holmgren out of the game might have been the difference. _________________ “I’m so frustrated with the business. If you look at my junior stats, there’s a lot of guys that come out of juniors with those kind of stats that sign pretty big contracts.” --James Hiebert

So whom should the Wings pound the ever loving shit out of in game 4? _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Roberts or Sykora, or Sydor, might be my choices for easiest pickins. Not Hossa or Orpik or Gill, that's for sure.
Hoo-boy! It's a series!!!
BTW, great move by Therien to replace Letang with Sydor. It had been so long since he played that I'd forgotten he was even a Penguin. Not sure what prompted Therien to keep Letang on the ice and Sydor on the shelf. He is NOT a sixth (or seventh) defenseman! And he played a great game tonight. _________________ NHrow7 (1996-2006)

Yeah, the Sydor move looks genius in retrospect. It seemed pretty dubious to me beforehand. I mean, I love the guy and all... Credit to him for being that ready to play after two months.
It's not really a series yet. Teams going up 2-0 are still, what, 30-1 in the finals? But I hope the Pens can knot it up, for everybody's entertainment

Dubious? Why? Letang is good, and young, but he got schooled once or twice in Motown. Sydor's got two Cups, and it's hardly as if he's over-the-hill. _________________ NHrow7 (1996-2006)

My vote is for Osgood.

Osgood didn't look osgood as he normally looks last night..... (bad pun I know). The D didn't help him out much though. Crosby's first goal was a give-away. Sid's second goal was mostly on Osgood's head. Instead of covering the puck up, it looked as if he was just trying to sweep it into the corner to his left, but at that last second realized Sid was unmarked sitting on the doorstep. Then it was too late. D was just a little slow clearing that puck out of the zone, that being said, the Pens were attacking like madmen all night long.
Still though, the Wings almost took that game to OT. I'm still standing by my Wings in 5 prediction. _________________ Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Dubious in that he wasn't good enough to crack the line-up for two months (he was never hurt). The fact that he isn't ancient but still couldn't (and was not producing) only makes that more damning. But hats off, it speaks awfully well of Sydor's character, conditioning and preparation that he stepped in like he did.
