This is VERY sad news for all of us hockey fans....lets please keep him in our prayers!!!
The following is from Rajans blog:

Unfortunately, this is not a blog entry I wanted to type. I received a very distressing phone call from Ken McRae earlier this evening as I was on the road.
Ken called to ask me to pass on the news that Jason Baird was involved in a serious accident earlier today while doing some landscaping work in Ohio. I don't have the exact details, but he essentially is covered from head to toe with third-degree burns and is in critical condition.
Obviously, this news hits close to home for me and a lot of people in Corpus who got to know Jason over the past four years, as well as fans all over the CHL who saw him play for Indy and Youngstown. Please keep him and his family - which includes a wife and three children - in your thoughts and prayers. If you'd like to post get-well messages here for Jason and his family, feel free. I will be away from the computuer most of the weekend, and may not be able to approve comments right away, but will get to them eventually. |

Yikes! I always enjoyed watching him play. _________________ “I’m so frustrated with the business. If you look at my junior stats, there’s a lot of guys that come out of juniors with those kind of stats that sign pretty big contracts.” --James Hiebert

It borders on the ridiculous at this point. Here's the press release from the local paper.
FURY’S BAIRD CRITICALLY INJURED IN ACCIDENT
MUSKEGON – Muskegon Fury forward Jason Baird was critically injured in a landscaping accident Thursday near Youngstown, Ohio.
Details of the accident were not immediately available.
“Everybody in the Muskegon Fury family is shocked by this news,” Fury coach Bruce Ramsay said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason and his family. If there’s anything we can do as an organization, we will do it.”
Check Saturday’s edition of the Muskegon Chronicle for more information on this story. _________________ Retired!

Apparently the lawnmower exploded. NOT while it was being fueled but rather while Jason was riding it. Unfrigginbelievable!

With this we see who really are the "want to be" workers in the league. Instead of sticking their noses up, some bust their butts up to feed their families in vocations none of you would ever pursue. Doug Johnson comes to mind. And he busted his ass to get back.
I've spent time with some in the off-season in a dangerous task and thank GOD nobody has ever been in an accident.
Get well. We'll pray for you. _________________ Mike@jayhawkroofing.com
