Got a call from Chris Miller of the Tx stars today; said construction was a bit ahead of schedule. Told me they are planning a "grand opening" gathering in mid Oct to meet STH most likely at their current office across from Walmart in Cedar Park (off of 1431 and 183); STH seats to be picked at that time for next year. Of course they want more $ then - 1/4 of total - with the rest due in Jan. He sent me a section chart of the arena so i could look at it for seat selection.
This is just fyi in case no one else has heard

What happens if you don't pony up your 1/4 at that time? You lose your $100?

Man, I'm all over that sweet deal.

Have they ever said how many people ponied up the deposit? I quit getting the paper a while back and don't catch the local news every day, but I didn't see a lot of ads about season tickets. I don't guess Randy sold them a list of whatever Bats STHs were left since we didn't get anything. (heh heh)

By the way, for all the Negative Nancies out there - my tickets are actually cheaper per game than they were last year with the Bats in the Crap Hole ($2 per game cheaper).

Luckily some people keep all their posts positive.

I'd just like to hear from all the people that said that Cedar Park would never get this done, or that we were going to pay through the nose for tickets for a lesser product.

Oh, and by the way, I asked Brett (Dalbey, with the Stars) if season ticket packages would include tickets to ALL games. He assured me that they would.

I can't begin to imagine the torches and pitchforks that come out if it was Jeff Buch demanding money more than a year before the season started. Where's the outrage?

Holy cow 97 it has been half a year, the team is gone, let it FUCKING GO. No one wants to hear you whine about your ticket anymore.

BD, he whined about having to pay 6 months early. He has probably reached some sort of agreement with Tom Hicks to represent his players, or maybe he is just reaching around Tom Hicks while he tries to pull his head out of Tom's butt, just shows where agressive brown nosing will get you.

Gee, can't we get over the negative attitudes and just be 100% positive like 97 always has been?

Does that include the surcharge you were paying that most others weren't required to pay?

Why don't you name me a second thing that I was ever negative about? I'm not like some people on here that bad mouth cities, bad mouth people, bad mouth coaches, bad mouth players. I got mad about one thing, and I think I had every right to.

Just got off the phone with a Stars ticket representative. I asked how much season tickets were going for, and was told the pricing had yet to be established - but they'd gladly accept $100 from me today.

Since you're an insider, 97, perhaps you could share that advance ticket pricing info you have with the rest of us? Thanks, buddy!

(I was told that 79 people had plunked down $100 deposits)

No problem. If someone can take a PDF and paste it here, I will gladly email them the price sheet.

Oh, and I'm not an insider. I got the price sheet emailed to me by another season ticket holder, who is also not an insider.

I wonder why their ticket representatives don't have a copy of that document?

Just for kicks and giggles, how much are glass season tickets?

Yeah, you have to hate a $6 per game increase for a higher level of hockey in a real arena. That is ridiculous.

From the Bats (RIP) website:

$1000 for 31 games = $32.26

From the Stars flyer:

$1600 for 42 games = $38.10

Since you were lucky enough to get a 32 game package, it would be a $7 increase for you.

I apologize for that mistake. It makes a HUGE difference in the numbers.

I didn't look at the "published" price, I looked at what I was actually charged. Huge difference. At some point you have to consider the total investment versus the number of games you actually plan to attend.

How many games did you attend last season? Divide your cost by that number and that would be your "true" cost per game. You couldn't make it to 32 games, but you you're going to make it to 42 games? Good luck!

One of the reasons I don't purchase Express season tickets is there are too many damn games. I couldn't possibly attend them all. 30 games in a season is about my max.

Actually, since this team will offer real season tickets, with that priveledge comes the ability to exchange unused tickets. So when I have to miss games, it will not be sunk cost.

But, that is a good point.

Edit: I don't know what you paid, but since I was not cozy with the owner, I actually paid the price that was listed on the website for my seats. I had assumed that it was not a mickey mouse operation that gave discounts to ass kissers.
