Thanks! I'm thinking of changing my name to New_VLP. Brett told me that I was in the first 10 for putting down my deposit, so I have a single-digit priority number. Woo-Hoo!

Actually, since this team will offer real season tickets, with that priveledge comes the ability to exchange unused tickets.

I exchanged quite a few tickets last season. Had you put any effort into it instead of whining all the time, you could have done the same.

Edit: I don't know what you paid, but since I was not cozy with the owner, I actually paid the price that was listed on the website for my seats.

That's too bad. I won't tell you what I paid, because it will just give you one more reason to feel sorry for yourself. But I will tell you that I paid the same thing I paid the previous couple of years (under different ownership). No ass kissing required - I simply asked. I'm sure you could have done the same, but then you would have had one less thing to bitch about.

At least you made a nice diversion from your failed attempt at calling my math bad.

Your math WAS bad. I would pay almost twice what I paid last season, wouldn't be able to attend many of the games, all for +1 level of hockey. The fact that you foolishly overpaid has no relevance here. I've indicated my preference for AA hockey and their local rivalries as opposed to the sterile farm league atmosphere of AHL hockey. I absolutely would have liked to have had a better venue, but Tom Hicks put a stop to that.

No hard feelings, brutha! I sincerely hope you enjoy it and find happiness in life.

Should get some rivalries going with Houston and San Antonio in the mix.

So my math was bad because I did not use your private numbers (that you refuse to tell)?

That makes sense.

I am giving general prices for those that care. You clearly do not, so it's no big deal. But one has to wonder why you seem to post so much on the board of a team you do not care about.

No, you overpaid and that makes you mad at me. There was no reason to pay more at Chap than you paid at the Expo Center, and if you did.....shame on you.

If I change my mind and decide to invest in Tom Hicks, I'll ask for a former Bats season ticket holder discount. And I bet I'll get one. If you ask nicely, I might give you a copy of one of my invoices for negotiation purposes. Who knows, you might be able to upgrade your seat for the same price you were planning on paying.

Gee, can't we get over the negative attitudes and just be 100% positive like 97 always has been?

Why don't you name me a second thing that I was ever negative about? I'm not like some people on here that bad mouth cities, bad mouth people, bad mouth coaches, bad mouth players. I got mad about one thing, and I think I had every right to.

Sheesh I don't even need to look outside this thread to find at least half a dozen things beyond that one "closed" game that you've bitched about, but excuse me for trying to inject a little humor to begin with.

No, I'm okay with the price I will pay. If it ever comes to be too much for me to take financially, then I will just not go. I'm just happy dealing with a new organization, and I look forward to watching hockey in a nice arena. The prices are fair, and it all seems to be going as scheduled. Those are two things that I think many of you predicted would not be true.

Okay, allow me to start a list for you:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Or was that another piece of humor, too?

Prices seem reasonable - most season tickets are in the $17-20 range plus whatever discounted parking costs. Walk-up tickets would be $20 if you wanted to avoid the worst seats or $25 if you wanted really good seats.

Not looking to pick a fight, but you DID ask:

1. Bats management not professional
2. Not real season tickets
3. No ticket exchange
4. Favoritism for those cozy with the owner
5. Mickey Mouse operation
6. Management catered to ass kissers

I'm not agreeing or disputing any of the above.....simply providing a list of things you bitched about in this thread (per your request).

Okay, BK's statement was a half dozen things other than the lost ticket fiasco, so you can strike #2 and #5 from your list.

I never bitched about a lack of ticket exchanged, I was just mentioning that the Stars had that to mitigate the attendance issue. So you can strike #3 from your list.

I never bitched about your relationship with ownership on this thread at all, so you can strike #4 and #6 off the list.

#1 I'll allow, because I believe it, but I'm not sure I actually bitched about it on here, I just referenced it. I'll give you another one - Chap Ice. That place was a shit hole, and an awful place to watch hockey (or anything else). The best part about that place was getting to sit in a bar during the intermissions.

Well, in that case why didn't you mention that the stars are going to use wood hockey sticks, rubber pucks, and ice?

Where did I say you did?

And your bitching about a Mickey Mouse operation was in reference to the discounting of tickets, not the sold out game you thought you were entitled to (and could have attended if you hadn't had sand in your vag).[/quote]

I guess I would have known that had I worked for the Bats as their PR director.

Speaking of, how is Randy's prostate doing these days?

No idea. I should probably give him a call. Prostate cancer is treatable and I'm pretty sure he's whipped it. Last time I spoke to him was when I moved the apartment stuff out of the storage facility. I still have that stuff, and still have my fingers crossed. You never know.

As I've previously mentioned to BUG, getting the jumbotron that the rodeo uses (or something similar) for replays at the Expo Center would make a world of difference. I know you're all giddy about your slick new arena - I'd be the same if it involved the team I rooted for. That said, I'm not a wine and cheese guy - more of beer and hot dog guy. I can still see the Expo Center working with a couple of changes (physically and financially).

With the advent of TX 130, the population is exploding out that way and the demographics are changing quite a bit.

Really? I didn't think hardly any players used wood sticks anymore. Last count I saw was 5 NHL die hards still using a wood twig.

The Texas Stars ARE old school. I hear their goalies won't use masks. And they're even going to have this old school thing called a ticket exchange.

Yeah, reliable information from the guy that told you they did not have pricing yet. Are you sure you didn't call the Bats office?

97, you need to get with the program. There's no need to call anyone.

http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?organ_val=20392&pid=6277174

After clicking on that link, select one ticket, and click on "continue." Much to your surprise, you'll be priority #80 (soon to be lower, based on a couple of people requesting refunds). Amazing, huh?

Aren't you the guy who said they hadn't come up with seat pricing yet?

Does that website include the tickets sold to people over the phone?

Batdog, you keep rooting for them to fail. That's fine. You've said all along in the process that it wouldn't work out. I guess time will tell.

Does it seem weird that you have a pay a service charge on a deposit?

I saw that, too. It does seem weird to me, too. The only reason I can think of is because that website doesn't appear to be affiliated with the Texas Stars.

Huh, I never noticed that, probably because I filled out the registration form from the Cedar Park link on the Dallas Stars web site. A guy named Brian Roe with the Dallas Stars contacted me and took my deposit. No service charge. But I don't think they had the link up to directly pay the deposit until later.

I know it's still a year away, but at least it feels like progress towards 'next' season!

I guess it's like the annoying "convenience fee" that ticketmaster tacks on in addition to the other fees they already tack on. You can probably do it via other means and save $10 as you said.
